John Cunniffe, RA is an award winning architect with 18 years of experience. He found architecture at an early age through study with an art teach and sculptor during his high school years. He graduated from New York Institute of Technology, School of Art and Architecture and later went on to teach their core architectural design curriculum for 3 years. While teaching John worked for award winning architectural firms from Eastern Long Island to lower Manhattan. This coincided with the production of several public urban planning and architectural competitions and invited design studies while with a think tank group the Brooklyn Architects Collective. Their work published in JAE, Metropolis, and Architectural Record accompanied exhibitions at the National Gallery, Grand Central Station and The Store Front for Art and Architecture.
Immediately after being licensed in 2005 John set out to develop his own practice JDC Architects, PC and has held his practice in Stony Brook, NY. Stony Brook's regional location allows him to live and practice locally in a community rich in architectural history, forest, shoreline and estuaries along the Long Island Sound, while easily accessing Eastern Long Island and Manhattan.
